A DAY IN THE COTSWOLDS

02/06/2021
I thought that it was about time that I had another day in the Cotswolds, and what better day than my birthday. I spent the day in my usual area which is basically within a 10 mile radius of Guiting Power although I did spend more time around the small village of Condicote than usual. I did check on a couple of known poppy locations in between Lower Swell and Condicote but they were conspicuous by their absence although it may have been a little early; it was towards the end of June when I photographed them last year.
I did notice a marked increase in the number of birds of prey and spent some time trying to get some decent images. Unfortunately none were quite up to scratch but using Google Lens I was able to confirm sightings of both Red Kites and Buzzards.
My most successful images were of rape fields where the yellow flowers contrasted nicely with the blue sky. I have included three images in the Cotswold Gallery.
