STOKE WOODS

24/05/2021
I've often read that bluebells are notoriously difficult to photograph; I won't argue with this and it may be why that over a period of five years between 2013 and 2017 there are no bluebell images on this site despite there being a wonderful annual display in Stoke Woods which is about twelve miles from me!
Having retired too late for the 2019 bluebell season I had assumed that 2020 would see me making several trips to Stoke Woods but Covid 19 had other ideas and by the time I made my first (and only) visit of the year the bluebells were already past their best.
I was therefore determined to make the most of the 2021 season. I made my first visit on the 7th of April when I noted that there were "only a handful of bluebells in flower" but I subsequently made four further trips.
The old adage that "bluebells are notoriously difficult to photograph" still holds good and, possibly with a couple of exceptions, I still haven't got any outstanding images but I have got a lot! As a result of this I have created a separate Stoke Woods gallery as a sub-gallery of the Banbury Area Gallery
